Political Vision
Democratic in approach, I believe in the all-inclusive progress of society and the nation. I believe in Nehru's world vision and follow the path of our leader Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji — a nation where mankind achieves the ultimate enlightenment of justice and equality, and where we disown discrimination wholeheartedly and in its entirety. I believe an impartial, unbowed and free education system can liberate our people.
Politics is an ongoing bargain for rights, legitimacy and justice between those who have them and those who don't — between the powerful and the powerless, the resourceful and the resourceless, the affluent and the peasants, the privileged and those kept apart by colour, class, caste, creed and culture. I side with the latter.

Political Network
Lalan Kumar is closely connected with INC councillors and ward leaders, public officials, government and private schools and colleges, medical professionals, lawyers and social leaders. He helps the people of Lucknow organise social, cultural and political events, meets those in need and regularly helps them solve their problems — which is why people here look to him as a helping hand. His team and network are spread across the constituency, working as a bridge of communication and carrying out the work assigned from his office.
Leadership
He believes in the strength of people: when volunteers share the vision of the party's leaders and organisation, all they need is a little supervision. He leads by example and strongly believes that stories of people's struggle inspire every one of us. His own journey — from a poor young boy to an energetic and optimistic leader — inspires his team to work selflessly, passionately and with great sacrifice.
Social Background
Born in August 1989 into a farming family with little land and few resources, Lalan Kumar grew up where daily life was a struggle for his family and the people around him. His father, Shri Ramotar Das, is a farmer whose hardships taught him to have faith in nature and natural justice. In search of a better livelihood to support his family, he moved to Delhi at a very young age, full of hope. Working and studying together was never easy, but he never yielded to those difficult years: he earned his MBA, started his own business and vowed to contribute to society. For him, political struggle is the way to secure natural justice for his people — and that is why he joined the Indian National Congress.
